Volcano Boy

Volcano Boy is a tender, sad story of a young girl whose little brother falls into a volcano and dies. She is reunited with him when, one day, her brother comes back in the form of a fiery little ghoul.

Volcano Boy is the prize-winner of Digital Book Award 2012, attributed in Paris during the 10th ceremony of La Nuit du Livre.


Flammarion & Actialuna

Flammarion and Actialuna co-published their first digital work, a fiction book for adults. Volcano Boy is the fruit of the alliance between Flammarion's publishing know-how and Actialuna's artistic and technological skills as a design agency for digital books. The co-editors had the opportunity to explain the process behind the creation of the project in an interview for the site  MacGeneration



New projects will come into being, always focusing on readers' experience.
Mathias Malzieu

• the book's author •

A highly-charged singer of the French rock group Dionysos, is forging his career as a writer and musician. He is the author of Maintenant Qu'il Fait Tout le Temps Nuit Sur Toi (Flammarion, 2005) and The Boy With the Cuckoo Clock Heart (Flammarion 2007), a big hit being published in more than 22 countries and adapted for the cinema. His most recent book, Métamorphose en Bord de Ciel, was published by Flammarion in March 2011.

Frédéric Perrin

• illustrator •

He studied art and design from the age of 14 at l'Ecole de Sèvres before electing to teach himself traditional painting techniques: the study of light and color. He subsequently joined the Beaux-Arts Studio and then the Gobelins Studio, where he learned how to animate for film and acquired more painting techniques, including digital production. He has brought this comprehensive pallet of experience to his visual artwork for 13 years.

Dionysos

Dionysos is one of the most famous groups in the French rock scene. Mathias Malzieu, leader of the group, cultivates the complementarity of his artistic facets by declining with Dionysos the soundtrack of his book The Boy With the Cuckoo Clock Heart. New album to be launched in March 2012: Dionysos plays Bird'n'Roll: Dionysos plays Bird'n'Roll.
